From Concept to Creation: Bespoke Aluminium Doors by Fortis
At Fortis Aluminium, some of our favourite projects are those that challenge us to create something truly unique. This striking pair of bespoke aluminium entrance doors is a perfect example of what can be achieved when creative design meets precision manufacturing.
What began as a client’s initial sketch evolved into an intricate sunburst design, featuring individually applied, flush-fitting anodised aluminium inlays set against a bold turquoise powder-coated finish.
From Initial Sketch to Precision Manufacturing
Every bespoke project begins with understanding our client’s vision.
For these doors, the first stage involved translating the original concept into detailed technical drawings, carefully designing the aluminium plates and preparing them for client approval.
Once approved, the plates were CNC machined and powder coated to Qualicoat standards.
We then manufactured the two aluminium door sashes, pressed the finished plates and returned them to our CNC machinery to create the precisely machined recesses required for the decorative inlays.
Each stage demanded accuracy to ensure the finished design aligned perfectly across both doors.
The Craftsmanship Behind the Detail
One of the most intricate stages involved individually fitting the flush anodised aluminium inlays that form the distinctive sunburst pattern.
With every piece carefully positioned and applied by hand, this process combines the accuracy of modern CNC technology with traditional attention to detail.
We decided to capture this particular stage on camera, condensing approximately 40 minutes of intricate work into a short time-lapse video.
The result offers a fascinating insight into the craftsmanship that goes into creating a truly bespoke Fortis entrance door.
